Magnificent Mugman

Attending the Mug man Hand-Building Pottery Workshop yesterday was an absolutely delightful experience! This workshop proved to be the perfect introduction to sculpting faces on mugs. Our instructor Amber was incredibly warm and welcoming, making sure every participant, regardless of their skill level, felt comfortable and supported throughout the session. She also provided tea and coffee straight away which is always needed for learning. The workshop was well-organized, with a clear structure that allowed ample time for each of us to learn and practice the basics of hand-building. We started with the simple yet foundational technique of crafting a cylinder before diving into sculpture techniques. Ambers patience and expertise really shone through as she guided us step-by-step, ensuring we all understood the process. The opportunity to add a personal touch to our creations by learning sculpting techniques and how to join sculptured elements was awesome. Making my own “man mug” was not only fun but incredibly satisfying. It was thrilling to see my piece come together, knowing it was unique to my vision. The atmosphere of the workshop was filled with enthusiasm and creativity, making it a truly uplifting environment. It was also a fantastic way to meet other like-minded individuals who share a passion for crafting and creativity. I left the workshop feeling grateful for the experience and inspired to continue exploring more mug men. A big thank you to Amber, Natasha and fellow participants who made the day so special! Whether you’re a beginner or someone with more experience, I highly recommend this workshop to anyone looking to dive into the world of pottery in a supportive, fun, and educational setting. Looking forward to coming back for future events!
